“Name That Girl” Contest
We had an ultrasound done last week and our newest little one is a girl. The doctor says she’s growing perfectly and that everything looks great. I have ultrasound images below. You can already see how cute she is.
So, we would like to have a little naming contest. Use the comment area below to suggest names for our little tie-breaker. She is due around December 23rd, so names associated with Christmas or the holidays will be given special consideration. We may accept any names suggested, or none of the names suggested.* But if we choose your suggested name, you win! The prize for the winner will be determined at a later date. Good luck!
*Any suggestions for names will be accepted, but all submissions become the property of TrentonHansen.com, to be used at my discretion and no guarantees of use, either direct or implied, are made, blah blah blah, etc, etc…
Holly Lecil Hansen
My Vote:
Nickie, short for St. Nick. Creative I know!
Mike
Natalie. Because the latin root for “Natal” is “innate – included since birth; natal – relating to birth; natural – gotten at birth,” THUS, in Brazil, the word for Christmas is “Natal.”
Ooh, how many times can we enter?
Hi Jordan,
Enter as often as you like. The more the merrier!
oh i am so excited!!! i am going to think of the best name for her!
Noelle Elaine Hansen. for my first entry….I’ll be back
Ryan…of course.
Holly Hansen has nice alliteration and it’s in the Christmas spirit.
Here’s the wiki on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holly
Tasha – Form of Natasha (Russian), from the late Latin name Natalia, which meant “Christmas Day” from Latin natale domini.
Adilia Hansen is a pretty name
One of my favorite shows has a girl named Felicity. I thought that this name my be appropriate, because it means things like: great happiness, bliss, good fortune, blessing, and even gracefulness (which compliments someone that I know named, Grace.
) Not only that, but it’s a very pretty name.
If you don’t like Holly, How about Noel, Eve, or Christy? They all have something to do with the Christmas season! I have to agree with Marnie though, Holly does have that nice alliteration going for it!
Very exciting!!!! Many congrats!
I also must agree that Holly Hansen has a nice ring to it. You might also want to consider Nikki Noel, Joy, Celeste or Sunny.
Charity is a good christmas name. I have also been a big fan of Lauren, which would seem to have nothing to do with christmas. What about Claudia, like Santa Claus.
Okay, here are some of my personal favorites:
Ickabod Garbovowitz Hansen (Call her “Icky” for short.)
Velma Lou Hansen (Shows traditional Utah-pioneer-stock heritage.)
Verdell LaDonna Hansen (Kind of speaks for itself.)
Curtalina Hansen (For obvious reasons.)
Utahnna Lavell Hansen (What could be more meaningful than that?)
I could go on but I fear that I’m making other entries look completely foolish. ;^)
I knew there were some people I should have left out…
I hope our daughters don’t see this. They are bound to be ticked that none of them were named Curtalina. My personal 2nd favorite (Felicity Noel being the 1st), would have to be Curtalina Utahna. Wow.
I have a secret love for the name Greta for reasons that will maybe one day be disclosed but not today (No, I am not having any more babies myself), but Greta is the variant form of Margret who was the patron saint of expectant mothers. I also love the name Eve, which means to breathe or to live. Variant forms of Eve are Eva or Ava, which means “desired”. If this was a much desired child from before her birth then there you go, or you could avoid that name on the possibility that she will be desired by all the hairy nieghborhood boys. Otherwise, I really like Greta the most and Eve or Evie next. I also Like Olivia, a name which was created by Shakespeare for a character in “Twelfth night”. You could consider the name Vanessa, a name I like also, which was invented by the Author Jonathan Swift when he rearranged the letters in the name of his close friend Esther Vonhomerigh. Vanessa was later used to name a genus butterfly.
I have also really liked- my whole life- the name Elizabeth of which the name Lecil is derived from (though spelled Liesl). The name Elizabeth is derived from the hebrew word which means “My God is abundance” and is also the name of the mother of John the Baptist.
I really like “Charisma” but Diana doesn’t like it cause it’s an actresses name. Also, Corey I like. And Chase.
I have thought about it alot and have now come up with a new name to submit for this contest of which I am certain to be found the winner-or the weener, which ever you decide. Eggroll. Eggroll Hansen. Eggy for short. you could travel the earth and never would you find another bearing the name Eggroll. I woke up at 4 this morning and got up to read my e-mail because I could no longer sleep, which could account for my creative genius knowing that I do my best work when not hit by the harsh light of day. Say it with me now: Eggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggyeggye

Mr. Sigiffus
I apologize for the above few posts. Somebody left the door unlocked again…
God bless baby Elisha…you are so loved.
